Refacing

The idea behind cabinet refacing is simple -- save money by using the existing cabinet structure and install completely new exterior doors. surfaces, hinges and handles. That is where the variables of workmanship, quality of materials and customer service will make a tremendous difference, and Apple Design Kitchens will make that difference something you will be proud of. And, after the job is done, we will stand behind our work.

There are three basic steps to the refacing process:
Step One: Existing doors, drawer fronts, hardware, hinges and moldings are removed, exposing the cabinet framework.
Step two: Exposed areas of the cabinets are refaced. Apple Design Kitchens will use a special construction adhesive to apply wood substrate to the framework. Then, Laminate or quality wood veneer is applied to the porous wood and a new surface is created.
Step three: Your beautiful new custom-made doors and drawer fronts with your choice of hardware, handles and hinges are installed.

  Should I reface or replace?

If the kitchen looks tired, battered and worn, there are options to consider before replacing the cabinets. You might be surprised to find out the more than 50% of the materials needed for new cabinets are already in place and in good condition.

If money is an important consideration, refacing is normally the best option. If some of your cabinets have bad structural components, we can repair or replace what's bad. Cost effectiveness and quality is our approach to each project.

Making the best choice: Before you take the plunge into a major investment such as kitchen renovation, it is important that you know what options are available to you. Let Apple Design Kitchen evaluate your situation and suggest the most economical way of creating your dream kitchen.
